Pamukkale University Prof. Dr. Fuat SEZGIN Library was established on July 3, 1992, with a total area of 131 m2 and 4000 books in the Rector's building. In the same year, the Faculty of Education's collection was transferred to the Central Library, where it began servicing approximately 8,000 printed books, with the BILISS-PC automation system used for the cataloging and classification of these resources.

From 1994 to 2000, it served with 8 bibliographic and full-text CD-ROM and 2 DVD-ROM databases according to the interests of the University. With the move to an area of 440 m² in the Rectorate Building in October 2000, the number of readers and collections has also increased with its expanded space. As of this date, in addition to CD-ROM and DVD-ROMs, it has started online database subscriptions.

At the end of 2000, the collection reached 24,000 and the hours serving the increasing demands were extended, and the periodicals and theses department was established.

In 2007, in parallel with the developments, it was moved to its current location of 1279 m² in the Rectorate building. Priority has been given to increasing the quantity and quality of online database subscriptions.

In the meantime, based on the recommendation of YÖK that library services should be carried out from a center, the collections in the libraries of the Faculties of Medicine and Engineering are also included in the existing collection.

In 2017, renovation works were started due to the inadequacy of the existing space; With the opening of Block B and then Block C, our library has reached an area of 3413 square meters.

As a result of all these developments, our central library today serves as an information centre with access to national and international information networks, drawing information and documents from the information network, thus ensuring full coherence between the information sources and the user.
